White Chocolate, Candy Cane, Dipped Oreos

I love baking with the kids especially at Christmas.

I remember making sugar cookies with my sisters and mom at Christmas time and I love recreating these special moments with my family now. This recipe is a no bake and pretty easy to do as a family. Its a little messy if you chop the candy canes like we did, there was definitely little candy cane chunks on the floor. You could put your candy canes in a large plastic bag and hit them with a hammer if you wanted but I did not have any plastic bags on hand this day.

Recipe

12 Oreo Cookies

1 small bag white chocolate chips

6 peppermint candy canes

12 small skewers

Method

The night before you plan to do this activity, spay a backing sheet with Pam. Carefully poke small skewers into the icing of the cookies. Lay out your 12 Oreo cookies with skewers in them. Put the baking sheet in the freezer.

Chop the candy canes into small chunks.

Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl.

Gently dip the Oreos in the melted chocolate and lay them back on the baking sheet.

While the chocolate is still melty, sprinkle the cookies with the chopped candy canes.

Put the baking sheet back into the freezer for at least four hours to set.

My kids were so excited to try our creation they had to eat one right away. As you can see from the pictures, it was pretty messy to eat them while they were soft but totally delicious.

I would love to know what you plan on baking this Christmas, share below in the comment section.

xoxo
