Five Tips For Keeping Skin Hydrated In The Winter

Living in Ontario I get to experience all four seasons. The change in seasons, often brings a change in routine for many areas of my life and that includes my skincare routine. The skincare products I use and my routines shift in the winter to help my skin stay hydrated during the dry winter months. Below I have listed some of my winter skin strategies. Thank you to Caryl Baker Visage Sarnia for partnering with me on this post.

Gentle Cleanser

My skin changes from oily in the summer, to feeling parched in the winter so I love to change my cleanser to something more gentle and hydrating during the winter. Right now I am loving the H2O Restore Purifying Foaming Cleanser from Caryl Baker Visage.

Hydrating Facials

Getting a professional grade, hydrating facial in the winter can instantly bring dry skin back to a more healthy hydration level. Following a professional service, at home skincare products will also work more effectivity to keep skin healthy through the winter. An excellent winter facial is the HydraFacial from Caryl Baker Visage. The multi-step, patented HydraFacial® MD system delivers long-lasting results that you can instantly see and feel by merging invigorating spa therapies with advanced, patented medical technology.

Stay Hydrated

Drinking the appropriate amount of water everyday will absolutely contribute to the hydration of your skin. I can actually feel a difference in my skin when I don’t drink enough water. I like to start my day by drinking a large glass of water first before I consume anything else, to start my day right.

Wear Sunscreen

We normally equate daily sunscreen application to summer but we still come in contact with the sun all winter long. I love using a daily moisturizer that has sunscreen in it and on days when I know I will be out for a trail walk, I apply an additional layer of sunscreen to keep me protected.

Maintain Moisture

I use the Caryl Baker Visage H2O Hyaluronic Hydrating Gel morning and evening, before my moisturizer to help my skin retain moisture. This serum is made with Vitamin B5 and Niacinamide B3, which reduces moisture loss, improves elasticity, and revives skin tone, while Coenzyme Q10 helps prevent damage to collagen and elastin.

Keeping your skin hydrated is the most effective way to naturally reduce the appearance of fine lines, keep skin plump and create a natural glow. If you need help with your winter glow, the Face Experts at Caryl Baker Visage Sarnia in the Lambton Mall, are happy to assist you in personalized skincare and facial recommendations.

Water cheers, to your glowy winter skin!
