This past Saturday I had my second visit to Los Puntos Cantina in Point Edward at 128 Michigan Ave. I had the opportunity to try a variety of items from the menu and meet the owners and head chef. I asked one of the owners about his inspiration for the restaurant and the menu and he shared, that so much of Los Puntos Cantina is inspired by his travels in Mexico and time with restaurant owners there.
When my sisters and I first ate at Los Puntos Cantina our initial reaction was how we loved how fresh everything tasted. Every bite was like a flavour explosion. I have tried most of the tacos on the menu but my favourites are the fish taco with mango salsa and the vegan taco. I am not vegan but love getting my veggies in delicious ways and the vegan taco is one I will be ordering again.
The atmosphere at Los Puntos Cantina is fun, inviting and laid back, like a little Mexican vacation right here in Lambton County. It is clear from the moment you sit at your table and are presented with fresh homemade salsa and chips (yes they make their own chips too) that you are about to enjoy an experience infused with passion from the service to the food and drinks. Let’s explore what I ate…..
My sisters loved these flights and the variety of flavours that are available to choose from.
I love the crunch factor of this chicken taco treat! Next time I visit Los Puntos Cantina I plan on ordering these with the Queso Fundido and dipping these in the cheese.
This soup was warm and filled with fresh flavours, not too spicy though. I love how many of dishes are not overly spicy when delivered to your table but you can add more spice if needed, with the variety of hot sauces available.
An excellent nacho cheese dip. This is my favourite item that I have tried so far. If you like nacho cheese, you will love this elevated version. I had the option with cauliflower and black beans but plan on trying the chorizo option next time.

I have also tried the fish and shrimp tacos and really enjoyed them. My favourite taco is the vegan. Its so great to have vegan options and if you are a meat lover, I think this taco will still satisfy you.
Triple Chocolate Mexican Brownie
This brownie was my favourite of the desserts that I tried. It was rich with the slightest bit of heat. I have been dreaming about it ever since.
Tres Leches Cake
Have you been to Los Puntos Cantina? If so what was your favourite thing on the menu?
I look forward to many more meals at this local hot spot. I am so excited that we have this fun fiesta option for dinning out in our community. In my experience, enjoying locally owned businesses of all kinds never lacks personality, passion or ambition to serve our community well. Los Puntos Cantina is high on my list of local favourites and I hope you have an opportunity to experience it for yourself.
